Youth Advisor Letter (February 6, 2012)

Happy New Year to all of our Youths and their families. The time has come to have our first meeting of 2012 and elect our new Youth Board of Directors for the 2012 term. The positions for the board are President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer and Fund Raising Director. If you are interested in holding an office please fill out the Letter of Intent for a Youth Board of Director position nomination form and send it back to me by February 22, 2012. To be a member of the MeQHYA board you need to be a current member, you can renew or join MeQHYA at the Youth meeting. The first meeting of 2012, will be February 26, 2012 at Double L Stable Equestrian Center in Hancock, Me, at 11 am. It will be meeting and a mix and mingle pot luck lunch, so please bring a dish to share! We hope to see you all there. The membership dues have been lowered this year to try to increase membership.
           
Please try to attend this meeting, we will be holding elections, and planning out fund raising events for this year. We will be discussing the YES conference in Amarillo, Texas, R6 Team, Youth World Show, Congress Team and the East Coast Novice Championship Show.
           
Wanda and I would like to put you all to a challenge and join Saddle Up Maine, a one time fee of $15.00, to log all your riding and driving hours for the 2012 season. The Youth who logs the most hours will win a free MeQHYA membership for 2013, paid by MeQHYA. When you sign up please put “YOUTH RIDING CHALLENGE” on your form, if you are all ready a member please put “YOUTH RIDING CHALLENGE” on your first log sheet you send in.
           
You don’t have to own or show an American Quarter Horse to be a part of the MeQHYA board or participate in our meetings and our activities. If you have any ideas or questions please call or email anytime we welcome your input.
